Or maybe you have a backwoods plot only accessible by foot. If only you could plant something without needing heavy equipment to work the soil...

A couple weeks after planting and the growth looks good and promising. Cleared the leaves and debris, roughed up the soil, spread the seed and waited for some rain. It's growing nicely for the amount of time it's been planted. I'm looking forward to seeing how good it grows as the season progresses and how the deer are attracted to it.

The deer are there every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. I only planted about 15 days ago and it’s already come up with little or no rain. I’m getting like 300 photos of activity this early in the season.! Which is still 2 weeks away.

I had very limited time to beat the rain. I raked back the leaves and loosened the ground with a heavy garden rake and just tossed the seeds trying with just my hands spreading seeds... I had about 80% take root, (which I am happy about). They will be a next time and I will spread the seeds better. And not plant too heavy.
