Winter Rye Food Plot Seed

Ordered 200 lbs of Cereal Rye and it arrived promptly. Put half of down last weekend before this three day rain. Other Domain products from Tractor Supply have germinated well.

My brassicas were not doing well due to excess moisture in our area. So I bought 4 bags of winter rye and over seeded in some of the plots where I thought the brassicas could still recover/benefit and plowed them under in others. Within a couple days the winter rye is up and doing well to fill in the bare spots and give me something to feed the deer with this fall/winter. In addition, I have an acre of winter rye in a plot that I sprayed, burned, limed, and then seeded without plowing or tilling. It came up fantastic in this plot and I can appreciate being able to plant it so late as I didn't put the seed out until 9/5. I think it is going to be my new plot starter seed.

Seeds came quickly and are growing well. However, they were packaged terribly. I ordered two bags. One came in a partially crushed box, delivered to my neighbor’s house, and the bag inside was ripped open in 2 places, with some of the seeds leaking from the box. The second box was delivered to my house a day or two later, but the box was also damaged and the bag was broken inside the box. The poor packaging is why I gave it 4 stars
