It is drying for curly hair but it does remove the smell so I now use it every other shampoo. When I do shampoo I deeply oil my hair first so my hair is not so dry. After shampoo I follow it up with moisturizer conditioner. Plus I use hair oil when hair damp. It a lot of step. But anyone with curly hair understand the need for moisture maintenance.
