Toro is the fatty belly of the tuna, the cut prized for its marbling. Noticeably richer and softer than the lean loin, and at its best eaten raw.

Buttery and clean, with visible marbling that softens as it comes up from cold. Far more fat and far less bite than a loin cut.

Although O-toro is the highest grade and most flavorful toro, it tends to be chewier than other toro. In view of this, I prefer to lightly sear o-toro and have other toro sashimi style.

Bit difficult to slice but still delicious
Took off 1 star because it was a bit fibrous at the edge of the belly and difficult to slice across the grain. Even with a sharp single sided Japanese knife. Otherwise, was delicious as sashimi and a very good price.
