Macadamia Nuts are native to Australia. Macadamia Trees live for a very long time; some trees in Queens land are 150 years old. Macadamia Nuts were brought to Hawaii in 1882 where the trees thrived in the volcanic soil; they are now grown as a cash crop in Hawaii. Macadamias have a very high oil content and most nuts are sold pre-roasted.
