Yarn Worx - Shop

So, we pre ordered these back in March and they were due with us in April. We finally got an email last week saying sorry for the delay (perhaps we were forgotten) but better late than never I say! Just in time for Christmas 🤣

These super cute snips from Cohana would make such a lovely present or just for yourself! Cohana released a different limited edition collection each year and these are just beautiful 🌸 if we have any left next month then we will take them with us to @knitandstitchshows Harrogate.

Available in either Pink or Purple and they are available on the website now.

Autumn is on its way!
As we are hoping to move the shop before Christmas, this could be our last seasonal window display.
Luckily we have been married long enough for Gav to be used to my random ideas so last night, we went to Harwich to collect some willow branches. I’m thankful that nobody had a phone with them to record as I managed to break my saw and fall over in a field 🤦🏼‍♀️ however, mission successful and the Autumn window will evolve soon!

If you haven’t already supported our Crowdfunder, would you consider a small pledge? It’s not where we need it to be yet and time is of the essence! Every pledge, no matter how small, really does help.

The link you need is in our bio. Thank you.

If you’ve been meaning to take a look at our Crowdfunder but haven’t had chance yet, we’d be so grateful if you would.

We’re now just over £6,000 towards our goal, and every pledge genuinely makes a difference.

The link to the Crowdfunder is in our bio.

One thing we’d like to mention is that we’re not simply asking for donations. We’ve put together a range of rewards to say thank you for your support, including branded tote bags, beautiful hand-dyed yarn and even the opportunity to spend time with us in the dye studio.

Every pledge, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to securing the forever home of Yarn Worx and Market Town Yarns. Owning our own premises will help protect the future of our business and allow us to continue serving the knitting and crochet community for many years to come.

Thank you so much for your support - whether that’s by pledging, sharing our campaign, or simply cheering us on. It all means more than you know. ❤️

What a week it’s been so far..

A rollercoaster of emotions, seeing both the worst and the very best of people.

To everyone who has shown kindness, encouragement and support - thank you. You’ve reminded us that kindness will always be louder than hate. ❤️

And to the keyboard warriors… thank you. You accidentally inspired something far more positive than you ever intended. #dontfeedthetrolls

$So, it seems that the haters and internet police are out…..that didn’t take long! Just to clarify, we aren’t asking people to buy us a house. We have a home and are happy in it. We started the crowdfunding as a way of helping us to raise a deposit to move the business ‘HOME’ out of our local High Street. We are downsizing slightly and will have a bit less space but I don’t think people generally understand the costs involved of running a shop. By moving the shop, even with moving costs and mortgage fees etc, we will be able to run the business for a fraction of the cost, protecting its future, long term. We will also be able to offer free parking, extra classes and more. We have been accused of begging and grifting. Things have also been said about why don’t we get a loan. How do you know that we aren’t already doing that? So many assumptions can be made by total strangers and most of them are unkind and untrue. Also, 40k is a lot of money. However, Crowdfunder take a chunk, we have to pay VAT on the rewards we give etc etc so we don’t actually end up with that amount of money. We were sceptical about crowdfunding as it feels incredibly vulnerable to put yourself out there like this. However, we have supported so many other people’s Crowdfunder/kickstarter projects ourselves because they sounded like a good thing for the people involved and as small business owners ourself, we know how tough it is. I think what I’m saying is, if you haven’t got anything kind to say then maybe just don’t say anything at all and keep scrolling. If you disagree with crowdfunding/kickstarter etc then that is absolutely your right but judging people is unnecessary. If you feel the need to unfollow then please do so.$
