Ultra-lightweight expanded perlite. Mixed into resin they make a low-density fairing compound that hangs on a vertical surface and knocks down under a longboard with far less effort than neat resin or a heavy filler. This is the filler for shaping and smoothing, not for structure.
I first contacted Boat Suppliers with questions about their fiberglass and epoxy products. My phone call was answered by an actual person who actually knows the product. I stated that I wanted to test on a smaller project for use on a larger project in the future. What i failed to mention is that I was testing the company as well. To say they passed the test would be an understatement. I called a couple more times prior to ordering, and all my questions were answered. I placed my order online, shipping was fast every thing arrived in perfect condition and packaged well. all of it works as it should. Here's the thing, I had to call them after checking my order, because they sent more epoxy resin than I paid for. He told me he remembered our conversations and gave me extra to test out. It's little things like this that go a long way. Good customer service on line is hard to find. Great customer service is almost impossible, and these guys knocked it out of the park. I will be ordering more in the near future.
