I bought one of these to experiment with, as I love rubber bridge guitars. The material is "fleshy" in a way that dampens the strings but does not affect intonation. It is really effective. Normal acoustic guitar strings really sparkle, but still have that low sustain rubber bridge attack. Very interesting and pretty sound when used with normal strings. The Dead Ringer on an acoustic with flatwounds sounds better than with a classic rubber bridge in my opinion. I ended buying two more. The Pro version is really nice for the curved structure for certain guitars. It also sounds great on electric guitars and nylon string guitars. It's really the perfect material for the rubber bridge sound, and so convenient. Probably the most interesting thing I've used it on is a high-strung (nashville tunning) guitar. really sparkly results.

This is great! Really works perfectly. Just a note to users: you do need to think a bit about layout of where the dead ringer sits and height of bass vs treble side. On my telecaster with vintage three saddles, I dropped the bass side saddles a bit and tilted the dead ringer to get the damping I liked. Don’t be discouraged to experiment and adjust to get the tone you want.

Been using this everyday on my guitar. I do a lot of production and guitar instrumentals and this has added a unique new sound to my recordings. The value you get for the price is a no brainer. Owning one of these is as essential as any other guitar accessory - strap, picks etc. Thx dead ringer !
