PETRU Sync Original - Cool overall

Overall: I like the product. Its a cool gimmick and adds some flare. Pros: The design is nice, modern and slick - the nicest sound visualizer out there imo. It works, its well finished and looks nice even when its off. That being said, there are quite a few cons one should consider before buying one. Cons: The first and most obvious con: It is quite an expensive add-on for what it is. You have to simply choose whether you want to buy it over a handful of new records. About the models: Both the original and the PRO have each their cons, which should not be mutually exclusive, but unfortunately are. Original: In my opinion, the original suffers from a critical flaw, which is that the sound is captured by a microphone. That means any background noise will affect the sound waves displayed (even with sensitivity on low). In other words, if you have friends over and are chatting over some records, the waves do not accurately reflect the song being played, but rather, the song, the movements, the talk...everything - this, to some extent, defeats the purpose of the item. However, it is nice to look at it while listening to records in (otherwise) "silence". PRO: The PRO fixes that by allowing the sound to travel via cable through the visualizer, which does 100% reflects the music being played and no ambient sounds - However, the PRO is much bigger than the original, which in my opinion is not a good decision. I wish I could have the original size with the cable add-on, because I do not want the visualizer to dominate my whole bench space, therefore I chose to compromise and go with the smaller version. Another thing about the original (I am not sure about the PRO because I did not buy it): There is a vertical metal bar on top of the box where you are supposed to rest your record covers on (I am not refering to the two vertical bars, but the horizontal one adjacent to the body of the visualizer). I found this bar to be a little too small, and depending on the thickness of the record cover, it sometimes struggles to hold it still. You have to carefully place the records, which at times sits in an unstable way over the box, and can fall with minor movements or vibration from the sound. I would increase this bar's height a bit to help it secure the records a bit better. Overall suggestions to the makers: I would add an option to send a USBC to USBC cable instead of a USBC to USB cable. Instead of the little pouch for the cable, I would add a complimentary microfiber cloth (maybe with the PETRU brand stamped on it) for people to clean their screens with. This would be a very nice add on. Overall nice product, but I hope you will improve it as per suggestions and maybe I will upgrade mine in the future, and gift my current one to a friend (; - Overall rating 4/5

The perfect addition to any vinyl setup

I absolutely love my PETRU Sync! It’s such a unique piece and honestly completes my vinyl setup. If you’re putting together a record corner, I’d seriously consider making this stand one of the main pieces. It adds so much to the whole setup. The quality is great, it looks even better in person, and shipping was impressively fast. Definitely one of my favorite additions to my vinyl corner. Highly recommend!
