Best tent for Adult Scout Leader

I have done about 4 setups and two campouts with this tent so far and I'm in love. I car camp more than backpack but it's always a late night setup and a very tired pack up at the end. Just 5 stakes, 2 trekking poles, and the tent all sets up together. OMG, it's so easy. One co-leader that was a trekking poll tent hater watched me pack up and said "Oh, wow, ok, I get it". Yeah, there's all the other things people rave about for the X-mid also - the build quality, attention to detail, sturdiness of the design, lightweight, etc. What I don't hear often is how practical this tent is for those quick setups and breakdowns when you have a short weekend or know it'll be a late night. It's great. The one option I would suggest is a full footprint groundsheet. I made one of tyvek but would have bought a Durston one if available. Just last weekend I setup on some very fine dirt/sand and did not want to set my gear on it in the vestibule. I understand that the X-Mid isn't made for car camping but there may be a niche market of people like me that find the advantages. I don't use the ground sheet for backpacking but I do think I'm going to make a mini vestibule pad for that same situation - I think I can secure it to the fly corner, body corner, trekking pole, and rainfly zipper stake. Brilliant just Brilliant

Hav been out in the Highlands of Scotland twice now and to say I had a great experience is not doing the tent justice the first time day I got the tent I tried putting it up in garden was successful and was well pleased. The next time I went to the great Glen way I got there late in the day and hiked till dark put tent up in pitch black with head torch 5 minutes later it just hammered down with rain all night was great listening to the rain on the tent not a drop of water in tent over the moon so glad I have invested in this peace of equipment yours Raymond

Light, Packable, and Fairly Priced

I love this tent so far! I took this backpacking in Japan for 3 months as I traveled and did the Michinoku Coastal Trail. I hiked a total of 1800 kilometres and used it for roughly 60 nights. My only issues: I don't love the zipper design for the tent body, I find it hard to close with one hand completely. The tent fly when wet, if you unzip it can fall down into the bug net of the body, so you have to be careful.
