I am fairly new to roasting green decaf coffee beans. This Columbian EA decaf was my first experience with beans that are decaffeinated using ethyl acetate (EA) and I am very satisfied with the outcome. First, I found the beans were easy to roast in my SR540 roaster. I went with a medium roast level as recommended on the bag. Second, and most important to me, the finished coffee makes a delicious cup in my Aeropress. I use 12-14 grams of beans ground medium fine in my burr grinder and am very happy with the taste and body of the finished cup. I imagine that I will be purchasing these very tasty beans from The Captains Coffee again.

This is my go to daily grind. I blend my own half caff and this EA decaf honey process bean is a perfect match with so many full caff options. Full city roast and rest for about 5 days and you’ll be finding excuses to make a cup of decaf in the afternoon!

Husband can only have decaf so I've shopped around for decaf beans that have a well-rounded flavor and I think I found it!
