There’s a lot to like about Klimper and it has certainly elevated my craft in terms of developing chord progressions that step away from old tired cliches and in helping me write the accompanying toplines, counterpoint, and basslines through making it easy to see what notes are in key and what’s being played on other tracks. However, there are some frustrating limitations with it that I’d love to see addressed in the next version.
In crafting a full song with many sections of chord changes, one often needs to copy and paste sections for repetitions such as verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus, etc. It’s fine if the section you are copy-pasting belongs at the end of what you’ve already crafted. However, there currently isn’t an easy way to paste a section between existing sections, instead of at the end. And that is sorely needed. When a track is getting long, it’s a real drag to have to copy a section, paste it at the very end of the track, and then click-drag and wait a long time scrolling backwards until you finally reach the spot where you actually wanted it inserted. This happens all the time when songwriting with Klimper.
Another unmet need is the ability to import MIDI from your DAW session into Klimper so you can work with it. For example, if you’re working on a remix and use Ableton’s Convert Harmony to New MIDI Track or Convert Melody to New MIDI Track features to extract notes from an existing audio clip and you want to pull that MIDI into Klimper so you can recontextualize it by picking some different chords that still fit an existing melody, or to write a different bassline that matching an existing chord progression, etc. Currently, you can’t do that. You can export MIDI from Klimper, but there’s no way to get MIDI into Klimper from an external source.

This is great.... I feel like it's just short of being a masterpiece.... would definitely buy, especially at £22! Makes chord progressions a breeze
Has the modes of major and also harmonic minor (let's face it 90% of songs use those)
What would be nice is the ability to have 2 keys at once and show them all in the section (so then you could easily borrow from major if your in minor, or use chords from minor and harmonic minor as the major and minor 7ths are pretty interchangeable )

The Plug-In itself is useful and nicely designed, but the given Setup-Instructions do not work for me anymore after a specific point and I cannot find any help anywhere.
I use Ableton Live 12, and the Main Track works just fine, but as soon as I try and use a second Klimper Track, the Main one doesn't recognize this, not allowing me to write multiple tracks and melodies.
I did everything exactly as shown in the video.
This is quite frustrating and I honestly tried everything I can. I hope I can receive some support in the future.
