Corpus Christi

A Gripping Story of Faith, Identity, and Redemption

Corpus Christi is a powerful and deeply affecting film built around a fascinating moral contradiction: a troubled young man assumes the role of a priest and, despite the deception at the heart of his new identity, becomes a genuine source of connection for a fractured community. The central performance is extraordinary—intense, vulnerable, and unpredictable—and the film constantly challenges easy distinctions between sincerity and hypocrisy, faith and institution, guilt and redemption. Its restrained visual style and somber atmosphere give the story an almost spiritual weight without ever becoming sentimental. This edition is also beautifully presented. The image has a natural, cinematic quality, and the limited-edition slipcover is especially striking in person. An excellent release of a film that is provocative, emotionally complex, and very difficult to forget. Highly recommended.
