Varia VS3 Dosing Cup

Varia 54mm dosing cup

The 4 stars is for the cup. I like the Varia ecosystem, have the V6, but a 54mm group head, so a small threshold was needed, and I wanted it in black to match my appliances. The cup is well made, those the magnet is exposed unlike the original cup that came with the V6 which I think long term will make for an additional challenge with cleaning. The 54mm rim isn’t available in black, only dark gray which is disappointing. Service from AB wasn’t great this time. The first order was delivered in white. I was given. A return label and promised a replacement would be sent out. The second cup also arrived in white. This time I was told to keep the white cup and a replacement item sent out. Third times a charm and I got the cup in black. The packing slip was signed twice, meaning quality control in warehouse is not working. Yes I got what I ordered eventually, but it was more difficult than necessary. All companies need to get better control of their feedback automation, as the emails asking ”how they went” before the issue is resolved is premature and the “we haven’t heard from you, can we close the ticket” despite there being shipping delays just read as customer support being left to an algorithm. Encouragement to shop at your local homewares store.

Great dosing cup

This larger dosing cup is so much better than the one that comes with machine.

Nice dosing cup works well.

This does the job very well, but doesn't seem to have quite the simplicity and elegance of the original catch cup that came with the Varia VS3 grinder. Overall very easy to use and locates well with the magnetic bottom. Transfers grounds to the portafilter without spillage.
