So I bought this tool so I could in disassemble the AVCS cam sprockets from my 09 STI, so I could inspected them and determine if they were serviceable or if I need to buy new ones. I started with the right side exhaust sprocket. Beginning with the three screws that do not have flanged heads, I noticed you could not insert the 5-point tip squarely into the socket of the screw. The socket hits the inside of the sprocket preventing the tool from inserting straight into screw. If the hex shank of the tool was about 1-1/2" longer, it would work better. Even with this issue I was able to get these three screws out. From there things got worse. I started on the three screws with the flanged heads. This time I could insert the tool strait in, however the first screw took a lot more toque to loosen. Then on the second and third screws I managed to strip out the 5-point socket of the screws before the listened. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that I twisted the tip of the tool. I suspect that Company 23 ordered this tool from a random supplier, laser etched their logo on them, and placed them on the market without sufficient evaluation.
