My favourite thing.
This bedroll is truly mythical, I’ve never been so attached to an object. In an age of mass produced throwaway plastic junk, having something that oozes character and craftsmanship is deeply refreshing. Like most, my previous setup was the usual collection of synthetic materials and I thought that was just what camping was. It dawned on me that travelling to spectacular wilderness to sleep in a plastic bag was taking so much away from the experience. My first night in the bedroll was absolutely transformative, feeling the air move through the canvas and the connection Earth, you can literally feel the expertise of its design.
My first few nights camping in it were very favourable conditions and didn’t exactly test its capabilities. Last night however, a surprise storm in the Colorado’s front range hit just after I had laid it out on the dirt. Heavy rain and hail came down on this thing, I jumped into a nearby tent to shelter. I watched as water seeped into the nylon tent and thought my canvas bedroll would be doomed. Once the storm had passed, my bedroll was covered in deep puddles and hail. After tipping them away, I was stunned to reach inside and find my bedding still dry! After yet another beautiful nights sleep in it I felt compelled to write this review.
One last thing, get yourself a canvas shell sleeping bag for it.

Awesome but not fireproof
This bedroll kept us much warmer than any tent we have used before would buy another one. It’s also easy to roll up and get on the move simply. One thing I would mention is that the canvas burns very easy. Second time in it we were near a fire on a windy snowy15 degree night and the popping coals in the wind started the tent on fire a couple times. We quickly moved far away from the fire. Ordering some patches and fire proofing stuff to coat it with.
