The spices in our very first masala are the result of four years of sourcing across 40 small, regenerative family farms throughout India and Sri Lanka. In this masala, you'll encounter Iniya Cardamom from Tamil Nadu; Aranya Pepper from Kerala; Makhir Ginger from Meghalaya; Lucknowi Fennel from Uttar Pradesh; and Kandyan Cloves and Peni Mi

I buy a big tin each year to have on hand once the cooler weather hits. Occasionally I'll brew chai with proper technique, and of course that's amazing, but I typically do something much simpler. Every morning I brew a pot of robust loose leaf black tea, and in the colder times of the year, I love to have this blend on hand to add a a half teaspoon or so to each pot. Warming spices, feels really good for the bod. Diaspora's really is the best, enormously flavorful, and incredibly fresh. (I had a touch of last year's on hand and though it was still really good, the fresh really pops and is in a different league -- I recommend using up your tin within 6 months or so if you can. Those are the breaks with ground spices!) By far the best chai spice blend I've ever tried (including from other very good direct equitable trade companies). A splurge for me, but absolutely worth it.

Love!
There’s so much more depth than any other chai spice mix I’ve tried, am a huge fan of it for drinks and can’t wait to try out some baking with it!

I love the pre-mixed chai spice and I also love following Sana's recipe for a homemade spice blend when I have more time. As with all Diaspora products, it's perfect.
