I’ve tried two other drop mounts as a LEO, and they were alright for a bit. But I did keep noticing the weight of one mount attached over the belt kept pulling the hook/loop away from that side, and I kept hearing it for 12hrs: made me OCD for sure. The other mount was significantly lighter, but like the other, attached over the belt resulting in the same situation as the first. The DPM is no slouch, but I love how it attaches through the molly of my SS Patrol Belt. I’ve had zero issues of it wanting to pull the belt away from my inner belt. I don’t run the strap, as I haven’t felt the need for it yet. Over 3 yrs I’ve spent tons of money looking for the right setup, and finally found it. I get LEO’s aren’t paid all that much: but buy-once-cry-once and you’ll have the perfect rig for duty. I use my same belt on patrol, and Tac team operations (od green/black belt w/dpm) swaps easily over.

Sitting or moving you barely notice you're wearing a leg strap
