Reel seat placement

Bought the rod first and put my existing reel on the rod and did not like how close the reel was to the butt end of the rod. So it seemed that I needed to buy the matching diamondback reel to get a better fit. Well I received the reel today and pit on the rod and still thought the reel was too close to the butt end of the rod. I even switched the direction of the reel foot. The reel itself seems very well built but my knuckles hit the knob in the center of the reel when turning the reel. Both unused so I put in a request for a return.

I have the 11’ 3wt. I have fished it a handful of times now and love it!! As a comp angler, accuracy and hook set capability is key. With the gen 4 there is no sacrifice on anything. Great product and I look forward to to adding more Diamondback products to my arsenal.
