Works great

I always boil my chain twice in clean water then use a sprayer to apply the chain stripper, rinse completely then boil one more time and wipe with a microfiber cloth and hot wax. It keeps the wax cleaner and gets all the old black residual wax out.

Works well on brand new chains factory lubed chains or as a final cleaning step of an old and used chain before waxing. Shouldn't be used to clean old and dirty chains and if used for that purpose, it shouldn't be recycled with a coffee filter as you would normally do after using it on a brand new chain. Learnt this the hard way - mine is not black and I can no longer use it on brand new chains.

Nothing gets the factory grease off a new chain like Silca's Chain Stripper. It's the perfect prep before waxing. I also use it to remove stubborn winter grime from gravel and road chains. Just a centimetre or so in the bottom of a jar, a soak, a shake and a rinse under a high pressure hose.
