Custom Float Build

As far as the function goes, this is a great rod. Handles large fish really well. Bought it for salmon, and couldn't be happier. As for the esthetics of the custom build, I probably won't do that again. Asked for medium cork, but got dark (what I was hoping to avoid). Gave my number if they had any questions regarding this, but never heard from them. Maybe I just don't understand what medium cork means, so I ended up covering it up with Winn Wrap. Also, custom sticker has air trapped under it along the full length (looks like it's scuffed up now, but looking closer it appears to be air). I have another Mags float rod for steelhead, and a bass rod that I got at the Grand Rapids Sport Show. I love those rods too. I'll probably just buy rods that way in the future. That way I can see what I'm getting, and don't have to pay the price for custom. I don't want to sound too negative because I really really like the function of this and my other Mags rods, which is what is most important to me. After putting a wrap on the handle, it looks better and feels better in the hand. So it has turned out well.

Excellent rod and excellent service. Had some questions about the build process and received answers for all of them before the day was over. Rod turned out exactly how I was hoping and the build quality is incredible. Will definitely be purchasing custom rods through MAGS again.
