I ordered these to try to match antique brass sash locks on a home built in the 1800s. These are made of stamped ?steel and brass finish coated. They are thinner gauge steel than most modern sash locks. That said, they do the job. Antique-ish, but not the real thing. Given that true brass cast sash locks cost more than five times as much, they are a decent economical solution.
