Tough and comfortable
Wanted to give some serious use before reviewing and after 11 days straight use in the Yukon I am impressed. The pant has great strength and stretch which is very forgiving when scrambling around. The knee pads I believe are a must in many situations but I appreciated the ability to remove them.
They are not a heavy weight pant by any means so will work well in all seasons with proper layering. Side vents help release heat in active situations. I appreciate the zipper pockets to keep everything secure from falling out.
I am typically a 32 and they are true to size and maybe even a touch big. The thigh room is more relaxed than my other manufacturers pants which I really appreciate giving me better movement particularly with long underwear on.
An upgrade on the pant would be to move the front 2 belt loops closer to the middle and add to more somewhere in my opinion. Glad I spent the money and believe these provide great value. Also these fit well under the large Nunavut rain pants.

Love the pants; now to use them more in the field!
Got them for mountain hunting in Spain and New Zealand but have worn dove hunting and scouting for deer now season. Love the weight and durability. Really like material and quality of construction; like the Kafue pants I wear appreciate the removable knee pads. I know they will work great in the mountains!

Waist Sizing Way Off
I received the alpine pant (beech) in size 34 yesterday and was hoping to take them on a sheep hunt tomorrow. The material and functionality look fantastic. However, the waist sizing is shockingly off. The 34 fit me like a 38 or 40. They won't even stay up on their own. I wear a 34 is almost all brands, and the Kuiu Pro Pant in 34 fits me perfectly snug and don't need a belt. Very disappointed as I wanted to test these out on a 10 days backcountry hunt. For reference, I am 6"5" and 195lbs. I also got the Alpha Grizzly in XL and it fits perfectly. I am not sure if this is a quality control issue on the pants, but unfortunately I do not have time to order a smaller pair in time for this hunt.
