I purchased the Synik 22 to replace my Synapse 19 for international travel.. I am giving it 4 1/2 stars. One of the main reasons I purchased it was for the luggage pass-through sleeve which the Synapse 19 does not have. Unfortunately, the opening is approximately 2 inches too small to fit over the handle of my roller bag. (The opening is just over 6 inches and my luggage handle is just over 8 inches.) I did like the built-in laptop compartment and the internal frame definitely added improved comfort and structure compared to my Synapse 19. The luggage fit comfortably under the seat of 2 different US Airlines. I was also impressed at how robust the zippers were around the clamshell opening. Overall, this is another great Tom Bihn product when it comes to design and quality.

Perfect size for travel

I was tossing between 22L or 26L. Glad I chose this size as it is plentiful for my 2 month international travel. It slides onto my Tumi carryon handle. I can also put on my back without being overwhelmed. I am 5’4”. It fits my iPad Pro, water flask and liquid pouch for TSA plus everything I need on the planes. It fits in the overhead compartments or under the seats. The quality is excellent. It doesn’t collapse into a lump. It stands up on its own, it opens up like a clamshell which is much easier to pack. It’s a very well thought out design.

Travel bag

I bought this bag as I needed something sturdier to last me through my trips. This bag is everything I could have asked for. It has so many compartments that I can easily store anything I need and since I use it as a personal item, I am able to reach and grab it quickly during a flight. I appreciate the length of the bag as well. I am only 5’0 so I struggle to find a backpack that suits my short torso. I was debating between this one at the 26 but chose this one as it fit my length better and didn’t seem as bulky.
