Summer trouble. Bold, but not loud. Expressive, but not silly. A little dangerous, and very well made. The Ridley Passetto in Vermillion has swagger, colour, movement and just the right amount of madness. The print walks into the room first, but it does not shout. It has presence. It has rhythm. It has that rare thing: flair with discipline. The fit is superb. Relaxed, fluid, easy on the body, but never loose in the wrong way. The lyocell gives it a beautiful drape, soft and light, with enough movement to make the shirt feel alive the moment the air changes. This is not a polite background shirt. It is for a long lunch, a late table, a good story, and the point in the afternoon when the sensible quietly leave by the side door. The collar, placket and buttons keep everything pulled together, which is what makes the whole thing work. Rock ’n’ roll, but beautifully behaved. The feeling is loose. The clothes are exact. Very hard not to love.
