In 1957 the Talyllyn Railway purchased a Ruston and Hornsby diesel from Jee's Quarries in Hartshill, and named 'Midlander' after the are group of the the preservation society that donated the locomotive. Used predominantly on works trains, and assisted in the re-opening the Nant-Gwernol extension. This model is of the Midlander in 'Origin
