Luna Display - Second Display Hardware

So excited to be able to use my old 27" Intel iMac as a screen again. A brilliant product, well implemented. It's not really usable without a hard link but a cheap USB C to ethernet cable makes a fast and reliable connection. Occasional minor glitches but the AI chatbot is pretty useful. Never got a response from Astropad when one of my issues got unintentionally escalated but I managed to sort it out myself. Why not 5 stars? I don't like the way it uses two of my three MacBook ports. I'm sure it could be implemented either as software only or as a pass-through dongle. One final wrinkle and not really a complaint per se, but while I can run a bonjour networked printer from the back of my iMac (saving me a port!) I can't do the same with a scanner.

Unsatisfied

I was excited about beefing up my workstation and reviving an old iMac to use as a third monitor. I had hoped to use it in the center of my command center, with my 14" MacBook and Samsung monitor bookending it. Unfortunately, the lag and lower picture quality make it pretty impractical as my main workspace. I’ll have to reconfigure things and continue using the Samsung monitor for Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, while the iMac becomes more of a secondary screen for reference material, webpages, and other background stuff. I don’t know, I had high hopes after seeing one person’s YouTube review, but people on Reddit warned about the exact issues I’m having.

Cursor a bit laggy

It's a great product, but the cursor is a bit laggy on my setup. I use my old 2014 iMac as a 2nd monitor for my 2025 Macbook Pro. I use an ethernet cable to connect the two computers. The cable plugs directly into the back of my iMac, and via a USB-C adapter ino my MacBook Pro. I choose "Ethernet connection only". It works pretty well, but not quite good enough to be my daily driver unfortunately, because the movement of the cursor on my iMac screen is laggy.
