Luna Display - Second Display Hardware

It works, but it is not a great experience.

I've bought this dongle to connect my 2017 iMac 5K to new Macbook Air M5 as a monitor. Setup was easy with a Type-C cable that was recommended in the instructions. But it feels sluggish in 5K resolution and lag is noticeable even after adjusting bandwidth and shifting refresh rate to 45Hz. It not the same as having a regular monitor connected with HDMI or Thunderbolt port to the laptop.

iMac new lease of life

Fantastic to be able to use my 2015 27" retina iMac with my newer MacBook pro. I use a USB wired connection and for everyday tasks there is no lag (also using mac keyboard and mouse). Easy to set up. Very slightly lag when editing video on FCP and a couple of small bugs but overall a really useful piece of kit (And no subscription once you have bought it)

Great Product - Great Service

Originally purchased the HDMI version but was suffering some issues with reliability. Support from Astropad was top notch and they replaced it with the USB-C version which solved all the issues. Great piece of gear that allows me to repurpose an older iMac as a monitor extension for a Windows laptop. Great support for the product from the team. Highly recommended.
