Modular Shop System

I just finished building 3 of the modular units. The instructions and videos were outstanding. I am a beginner wood worker and these were the first big items I tackled. I have a few comments/suggestion. I adjusted the plans to reduce the height to 36 inches and I trimmed the 2x4s to 3 in. I used the tool provided to adjust the plans. For the most part this worked great however I had 3 issues: 1) I could not get the bottom shelf in the saw stand with these adjustments, 2) the draw fronts and back panel for the mitre saw stand was off by 1 in, and 3) I had to adjust draw slide locations for the altered height. I suggest the plans include some notes on a few of these issues to help other newbies like me. I also purchased the spacers and clamps and they were awesome. Highly recommend these products!!!

I'm just starting to get into woodworking and thoroughly enjoyed this build. Zach makes it easy to follow and modify your build based on your own needs with the optimizer calculator. That said it did create some confusion for me when trying to figure out the drawers, I don't believe the software took into account for the drawer fronts but eventually I figured it out. I only built 3 of the 4 in the bundle as I'm waiting to purchase a new miter saw before building the cabinet. Thanks again for your thoughtful plans Zach, and it was certainly worth the cost.

Built workbench, now starting shelves on the one with drawers.figured you ran all 2x lumber thru planer but you confirmed with the left bench and I’m so jealous I don’t have one. Will buy the flip bench plans and build a future planer into it. Sure like your videos and plans and just ordered your corner clamps after buying another brand that didn’t fit.
