It's much thinner than I anticipated, but there is no difference in my horses behavior to make me think that it's too thin. My mare almost has no withers, and I will say that my saddle doesn't move/slide as much with this pad. The pattern and colors are exactly like the picture. The pad is beautiful, and I have gotten so many compliments on it already.
