# Shop

## Choose one way to use Shop

Use the first option available. Each loads a complete Shop skill; do not combine them.

### CLI

Install the command and its exact bundled skill:

```sh
npm install --global @shopify/shop@latest && shop skill --install
```

Installing the command does not install the skill. Run `shop skill --install` so your agent knows when and how to use `shop` in later sessions; `shop skill` prints the same guidance anytime. If installation fails, continue to the next option.

### MCP

Connect to `https://mcp.shop.com/` with the host's native MCP setup. Load the `shop` skill advertised through Skills over MCP (`skills/list`, then `skills/get` and `resources/read`), and follow it for shopping and sign-in. Do not install another Shop skill for this binding.

### HTTP

If the environment can make HTTP requests but cannot install the CLI or connect MCP, follow [the HTTP skill](references/http.md). Its curl examples define the requests; translate them to the available HTTP client when curl or a shell is unavailable.

## Connect to the user's Shop account

Offer to connect the user's Shop account for saved addresses, Shop Pay at checkout, order history, and spend requests with a saved card. Sign-in is optional. If the user does not have an account, they can create one at [shop.com](https://shop.com/). If they decline, continue anonymously. Use the selected binding's sign-in flow.

## Start shopping

Do not stop after setup. If the user already asked for something, perform that request and show useful results. Otherwise ask what they are shopping for, then search and present the best options. Setup is complete only when the selected binding returns real product results.
